【Two One Five】

Author: Jeff Jaskolka
Genre: memoir
.
It is basically a memoir, a heady ride where different version of truth from author’s life are presented.

The book took us back to author’s school days which focus on some facets of life as seen by the author. Despite of his modern upbringing, he had to fight against racism, even he had gone through several heartbreaks at that time.

Though he had to cope with a horrific tragedy that had a profound effect on his family, still he now unfolds the mysteries behind all his success and happiness to inspire others.

There’s something about the author, something that makes you feel that he is honest, sincere and brave, and you can relate with. There is a lot to absorb and process, as the story moves forward.

It manages to ground its soaring ideas of love, loss and betrayal in strong emotionality. It gives the way to approach the situations & value things. Basically to understand what, why and how the situations were.

I must say, first few pages were totally thrilling as well as heartbreaking for me. I hadn’t expected such things there. Narration is good but I think it could have been much better.

The amount of thought, refreshing perspective of a totally different culture and certain aspects of author’s life that author puts in his book is largely appreciable. To be honest, the book has lots of thrill, chills and suspense, even though some parts are unnecessarily dragged.

As this book is a beginner friendly young adult book, I would recommend this to beginners only.
