A desi story of revenge and retribution set in the volatile socio-political milieu of Indo-Pakistan on the cusp of colonisation. This book would have made for a compelling idea. But indulgent pace,a confused and often convoluted plot weighting out down, make this book a laborious read.

In a tumultuous period in Indian history, it’s reassuring and very deliberate. Some bits are done well. Like Spies’ attitude towards the enemy used to illustrate how our armed forces can protect our nation. Also, there are some stabs at political commentary.

The whole book perfectly wrapped up loose ends. Cover and title, both are nice.Overall, it’s a good read.

You may have lots of dreams, you may also think of how you can fulfill those dreams. And you know what it’s more difficult for a physiologically ill patient with a dream of becoming a best-selling author.

I’m talking about Myra Neyman, patient of psychology, finds a platform for herself to achieve her dream. But her family is absolutely unware of her hidden talent, contradicting the doctors who warn her parents against the ill effects that the fantasy world would have on her.

Meanwhile, she is torn between choosing her family and chasing her dream. But,this story says how Myra does everything to prove all wrong and fights against all odds. Here, author adopted a largely playful tone to let us know how dreams come true.

I genuinely think the title is justified in this story.Even this book has clearly shown what dreaming means. Also, it has left an indelible mark on reader’s mind to face any obstacles in their path. But the problem is too many things are unnecessarily dragged.

Overall, good attempt.

✨ cover is pretty good and eye-catching.Title is nice.

✨ Mother is the most lovely word in the world and who doesn’t love his/her mother? So, author deals with different topics related to the word ‘माँ’.

✨ Well written poems are the examples of a mother’s love and kindness. Pace is really fast and the flow is easy.

✨ language is simple, engaging and it can be finished just in one go.

✨ personally, I liked the most ‘याद’,’रहो सदा परछाई सा’and ‘ममता की चाह’ and few of them are very long though.

On the whole, it’s my first read of hindi poetry and I loved it.

Yes, I love reading bengali books and here is a new book that is very familiar to our lives.

This book tells us the story of author’s own life to become a writer, his ambitions and imaginations what he had seen through his journey in a very innovative manner.Actually it took us down the memory lane of his own experiences. Also, author tried to give a new thought and message towards our society.

Cover is really pretty and title is interesting to make an impact. It’s a rare book that recognises the pain from loss but it never makes loss the centre of what it wants to say. Different tales are about helpless vulnerability and yet a quite, innate strength that we need to dig deep within ourselves for. It means to hold on to memories without letting them become festering wounds.

Author adopted a largely playful tone to carry forward much of the poignant material. The best thing about this book is interblending the imaginations with the reality. Even without being manipulative, the book tugs at your heartstrings. But some parts are unnecessarily elongated and muddled.

Overall, it doesn’t weight you down with sadness but it provokes you to think.

Few things excite us more than anything and here are something soft, emotional nine short stories, all set in Bengal, make us nostalgic and evoke our childhood memories at the same time.

This book tells us the story of missing people’s lives, family traditions and old days of Bengal. Actually it took us down the memory lane. I feel this is a great way to raise curiosity among us.

Cover of this book is really pretty and title is apt with the story. It touches my heart. In fact, the style of writing will sometimes take over your sense. There is a poignant part that reveals the reason behind each different stories.

But, the language is really hard and uncommon, it might create problem for beginners. Although, my favorite story of this book is “Ratan’s ma”.

If you want to know more about Bengal and Bangalees, then this book is for you.

How do you deal with life’s challenges? What is the secret of living simple and happy life? How do you keep balance in all relationships? When and how can universal energies work for you? How can you learn to analysis every situation correctly? And ultimately, how can you again soul realisation?

It stands out as an interesting nonfiction book that serves as a life lesson on real life examples with huge knowledge. Also, this book oscillates between the post and the present, capturing the touch of spirituality.

In my opinion, it follows a familiar formula of external happiness, the highs and lows of life and the unflinching drive to prove one’s worth in life . But it’s formula that’s done well.

The narrative cleverly urges the readers to think more about the answers of all our existential queries and assured a braved life against all odds with both humor and heart. Cover and title are really pretty and attractive.

On the whole, it’s an easy and engaging book .

TICK TOCK

Ratings: 5/5

⏺(Review):―
Do you love to read comics? If yes, then I can say easily, and with confidence, that the only beautiful illustrated book will make you happy without using a single word. Here, the author dealt with smartness and that is commendable.

As the story says, “what you end up becoming is something only Time will tell.”―the use of real life footage on the basis of a wist watch is an appreciable work.

More than anything else, I loved this unique cover and visual representation that hold a deep meaning to add an extra weightage.

THE CURSE OF ANUGANGA

【THE CURSE OF ANUGANGA】

Pages:270
Genre: historical thriller

RATINGS: 3/5

Starting from the cover, it looks beautiful and attractive. But the title is not apt for the story.

It breaks my heart to say that plot has strong potential but the burden of carrying lots of unnecessary events failed to make any interesting impact.

Before going any further, This is a historical fiction set in 403C.E. in the city of Nandivardhana where Shaunaka,a young well educated man, is forced to join his father’s business and given the charge to work on his father’s orders. In the mean time, Vinayashura, an affluent trader deeply connected with royal family, was suddenly murdered.

Who killed Vinayashura and why? What was the curse of Anuganga? Will Shaunaka be able to solve the mystery behind this murder?

Well the book is not engaging enough. It’s charming in parts, but so dragged and so muddled that you will be constantly bored. The bold characterisation, easy language and climax were perhaps the only reasons why you would give it a shot.

In the end, author’s attempt may be faulty in execution but kudos to author’s skilled research to introduce such genes with us.
